Facilities Management 2015 sees exhibitors & speakers from across the industry launching new technologies & discussing key issues

Posted by Dave Higgitt | March 02, 2015 | Facilities management

After last year’s successful launch, the Facilities Management event returns to the NEC, Birmingham for its second edition on 24-26 MarcDescription: https://www.easyfairs.com/typo3/clear.gifh 2015. Having attracted more than 4,365 attendees last year, this year’s event is set to include more exhibitors, show features and expert speakers.

Facilities Management 2015 will run alongside Maintec (for the maintenance, plant and asset management industry), The Health & Safety Event, which is run by Western Business Exhibitions, and easyFairs’ new show Cleaning 2015, focusing on buyers and suppliers from the cleaning industry. Visitors need only one badge to access all these events and their free-to-attend educational seminars, industry experts, show-floor entertainment and exhibitors launching new technologies and concepts on the UK market.

Exhibition hall

Exhibitors at Facilities Management 2015 include major names such as Ice Road Gritters, Scot Young Research, WD40 and Cooleraid. These will be joined by an array of new exhibitors including NBC Bird and Pest Solutions, Kemper UK, Williamson-Dickie Europe Ltd and Asckey Data Services. Ecogum will be showcasing its portable machine for removing chewing gum from any facility, while Manhattan Atrium will be displaying its latest web-based software suite which enables organisations to optimise their estate, enhance business performance, manage risk, add value and reduce costs. MobileWorxs will be exhibiting a number of pre-built applications and solutions which allow organisations to bridge the gap between the office and the field and showing how to eliminate paper-based processes and provide mobile workers with all they require to carry out their tasks.

For those looking to improve their green footprint in disinfecting and sanitising, Green World Innovations will be exhibiting its lotus PRO cleaning solution, which uses aqueous ozone as an alternative to chemical cleaning products before changing it safely back into ordinary water and oxygen, reducing the impact on employees and the environment.

Access Control Technology, which designs and manufactures electronic access control and door entry products, will use the show to introduce ACTviquest, an integrated access control and video management solution capable of recording up to eight channels and managing up to 100 doors.

Show-floor entertainment

Learning opportunities at Facilities Management 2015 include a return of FM Matters, where experts from some of the biggest names in industry will share their knowledge and experience. Running in conjunction with this will be The Business Exchange, which will feature a selection of free practical talks on the latest research, new innovations and case studies exploring the hottest topics, challenges and trends. Tony Cahill, executive director of business and service development at Vivark, for example, will be discussing why energy management is becoming an increasingly important subject and explain the significance of creating an integrated workplace design.

Oliver Ridgwell, sales and marketing manager at Manhattan Atrium, will be detailing the process of implementing building information modelling (BIM) for a historic estate and its integration with use of FM systems. Gerard O'Keeffe, CEO at Geopal, meanwhile, will be exploring how to transform field operations from a reactive and break/fix model to a preventative and predictive model.

Given that being more carbon conscious is a very topical theme within the facilities management industry, there will also be an appearance by Matt Whitehead, head of energy and carbon reduction, and Mitchel Maynard, senior energy consultant, both from LCMB, who will be discussing how to deliver behavioural change when it comes to energy and carbon awareness.

Additional show-floor entertainment will come in the form of Lions’ Lair, which will see the event’s newest technologies, innovations and concepts pitched to an expert panel in a bid to find the best in show.
