One of the UK’s leading property consultancies is marketing a ground-breaking building – the first student residential accommodation in Scotland to be awarded the BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ accolade.

Bidwells, together with Edinburgh-based Lewis Sutton Property Consultants, has been chosen to sell Prestige Student Living’s Fraser Studios in Aberdeen, comprising 173 purpose-built units located near to the university and just ten minutes from the city centre.

The building achieved a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating in the world’s leading environmental assessment method, through the design team’s meticulous attention to detail and integrity in delivering a high-quality sustainable building.

Colin Summers, Partner Investment at Bidwells said: “It is a great privilege to be promoting such a unique building and the first of its kind in Scotland to have achieved this highly-regarded rating. These prestigious studios offer an outstanding environment with a wide range of in-house facilities and a convenient location close to the University of Aberdeen and near to the city centre with all it has to offer.”

Jonathan Sutton from Lewis Sutton added: “We are delighted to be jointly promoting Fraser Studios and it is testament to its quality, that the property is witnessing rapid take-up in its first year of operation.”

There’s a choice of five different styles of studio, to suit a range of budgets. All are highly-specified and come with a large bed and study area, as well as a modern integrated kitchen. Stylish communal facilities include a cinema and games room, and laundry facilities, as well as up to 100Mbps Wi-fi. Inclusive pricing means that utility bills are covered and some styles of studio incorporate gym and swim membership.

Andy Taylor from Visage Properties added: “This is a ground-breaking project on two counts – the highest BREEAM-rated student residential building in Scotland and the first to achieve an ‘Outstanding’ rating.”

Richard Tynan at Titlestone which funded the project said: “Titlestone was delighted to support Visage Properties and its development of a purpose-built student block of 173 units in Aberdeen, Scotland. We have been impressed by the team’s pragmatic approach and attention to detail which has rightly earned them a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating for the finished scheme. Titlestone remains committed to funding purpose-built student accommodation schemes in quality locations throughout the UK.”

Prestige Student Living, the premium brand of one of the UK’s leading provider of student accommodation, has a number of luxury student properties across the UK in first class locations.

BREEAM was founded in 1990 and is the world’s first sustainability assessment method for buildings, with holistic measurement across nine categories, applied in over 70 countries worldwide.  Created as a cost-effective means of bringing sustainable value to development, it helps investors, developers, design and construction teams and occupiers to use natural resources more efficiently.
