With a background in mathematics and theoretical physics, Dara joins a prestigious line up of speakers at the event, which takes place on Friday 21 March at the NEC, Birmingham and offers a mix of practical and inspirational continuing professional development sessions for all school staff.

Speakers include TV presenter and physicist, Professor Brian Cox, key policy representatives discussing the implementation of the new National Curriculum and leading educators from throughout the UK. Specialist summits for school leaders, academies and free schools and the annual national conference for the Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) also take place at the show.

Anita Pal,event director for the Education Show at organiser i2i Events Group, said: “It is exciting to be able to welcome Dara to the Education Show 2014. Maths in particular and STEM generally continue to be areas that education must nurture to inspire the next generation of UK scientists, mathematicians and engineers. With his background in and continued support of these areas, he is a highly anticipated addition to an already great line up for this year.”

Dominic Savage, director general of BESA and founder of the Education Show, added: “The new National Curriculum has demanding changes. Expectations of lessons being more engaging present a range of tall orders for teachers. Dara’s television maths series was itself an inspiration. Now he is at the Education Show to share his ideas. Absolutely not to be missed.”

In addition to a targeted programme of CPD-accredited content, the Education Show brings together over 350 leading education suppliers with the latest and most effective solutions designed to help schools meet the needs of their pupils, staff and wider community.

The Education Show 2014 takes place from 20-22 March 2014 at the NEC, Birmingham and is free to attend.
