Security and safety company Allegion has launched Inspec, a new downloadable specification guide for 2015. The guide sees the company moving towards consultancy and aiming to provide architects and specifies with products designed to work together, particularly in the healthcare, education, hospitality and other commercial building sectors.
The guide includes information on price, certification, compliancy and aesthetics, as well as details of security and architectural ironmongery products from brands including Briton, CISA, Von Duprin, Normbau and Schlage. The suitability of products for specific applications is outlined, addressing CE markings and building regulations to ensure fire, life-safety and accessibility requirements are met. Bespoke software and Allegion’s specification team will provide technical support and services.
Phil Street, commercial director for the UK and MEA regions at Allegion, says: “From door-sets and closers to access control systems and panic hardware, when it comes to mechanical hardware and security product specification, there can be an overwhelming amount of detail to consider.
“Understanding such pressures has led to the development of the new Inspec guide, which will aid accurate specification by providing expert advice to the industry, extending our role as a manufacturer even further.”
