Steni offers 40-year warranty

With an industry-leading 40-year warranty now standard, there’s more reason than ever to specify Steni cladding panels

For architects looking to create a modern landmark, Steni Colour panels offer stunning possibilities. The façade panels – made of fibreglass-reinforced polymer composite, with a smooth surface of electron beam-cured acrylic – have a proven life expectancy of 60 years. Now, though, the company has achieved another type of landmark within the construction industry: a 40-year warranty on all of their products.

With the longevity of the company’s panels proven in their native Scandinavia, the impressive new warranty is no surprise. “Our rainscreen cladding panels are resistant to anything that the UK climate can throw at them, and are designed to last more than 60 years without loss of functional effectiveness,” says Steni UK’s Managing Director Ian Anderson. “That’s why we can offer a 40-year warranty.”

Such a comprehensive warranty will seriously reduce lifecycle maintenance costs for any project – but this is not the only way in which specifying Steni can save you money. Onsite, a Steni system can be fitted in all weathers to reduce costly delays: it also has the advantage of minimal mess and virtually no wastage. That’s because all the panels are cut to size before they leave the factory – a key advantage for projects such as the striking creative media centre The Hive at the Manor Church Academy in York.

The £3 million building’s distinctive multicoloured façade combined seven different colours, from rich red to light yellow. Architect Will Jones explained why Steni was the perfect choice: “Given the number of colours used, the sheer scale of the operation and the accuracy required would have made it impossible for the panels to have been cut anywhere other than at the factory.”

And, according to Ian Anderson, Steni’s new warranties are just the start. “We’re constantly looking to use technology to improve our products and services, and we have a number of exciting developments coming on-stream in the near future – giving architects and specifiers even more reason to choose Steni.”
