Trends are increasingly important when refurbishing or planning a new build student accommodation project. Students expectations have changed significantly over recent years, they now expect high-trend bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms no question.

Here are the top 10 interior décor trends…

1.      Tactile Texture – Mixing fabrics, woods and ceramics adds depth to a room and creates features and decoration without clutter

2.      Marble & Brass – last year’s trend for marble is set to continue. Combining these two rustic elements create a fresh and modern look

3.      Navy Blue Interiors – Modern and fresh vibes, walls, islands, couches all feature pieces look good in bold moody blues

4.      Copper – Metallics are trendy but copper is still the metal of choice for 2017 and showing no signs of slowing down

5.      Hygge – Hoo-ga, the Danish concept of feeling cosy and content is this year’s décor craze. Thick chunky throws, candles, and scatter cushions galore

6.      Colour Mixes – Whether its bold greens and moody blues mixed with gold and marbles or beautiful muted colours, colour mixing is showing no sign of slowing down in the trend stakes

7.      Wood Effect – A rustic take on ‘tile’ is the in thing for 2017/18

8.      Georgeom Geometry – This trend is now seen across a vast amount of design and is set to continue influencing shapes, patterns, and art for the next few years

9.      Vivacious Vines – Plants and in particular climbing plants, freshen up any room

10.       Quirky Furniture – 2017 see’s the rise of seating and tables being a decorative accessory in every room
