Dame Dana Ross-Wawrzynski, CEO of Bright Futures Educational Trust, recently attended the turf cutting ceremony for the upgrading of Stanley Grove Primary Academy.

Due to be completed in 2017, the renovation project is funded by the Department of Education and is being delivered through the Education Funding Agency’s Priority School Building Programme.  It will include a new three-storey classroom extension and a new glazed entrance to the school.

Stanley Grove’s existing Victorian School building will be retained and refurbished throughout, ensuring that the architectural details and the school’s long history remains a focal point in the Longsight area of Manchester.

Phil Mellen, Executive Principal of Stanley Grove Primary Academy, commented: “We are extremely pleased to be able to provide our students with these new and exciting modern facilities. This extension of the existing Stanley Grove site will ensure our school is one that students and the local community can be proud of for years to come.”

Dame Dana Ross-Wawrzynski added: “We are constantly striving to improve the facilities across our Trust as part of our commitment to deliver a world class education for all our students. I am delighted to be able to mark the beginning of the renovation of Stanley Grove Primary Academy, and look forward to the wonderful opportunities it will bring for the students and staff here.”
